‘ON YER BIKE !’
This weekend Nick Battle founder of the Penryn based charity Gravel Road Trust will be cycling coast to coast from Devoran to Portreath and back again and he is looking for people to cycle with him to help raise funds.
The tiny charity has a big heart and has helped those in the midst of cancer treatment by providing a much needed holiday. It has also raised funds to fly a family back from America to say goodbye to a loved one who was terminally ill,
and earlier this year helped provide support to a young man whose bride of just seven months had died from cancer. As Nick says, ‘ It takes a lot to get a fat bloke of my age (60 next year) on a bike but the more money we can raise the more
people we can help’.
Prior to moving to Cornwall in 2014, Nick worked in the music business, wrote books and made radio programmes. Last years debut event raised just over £2000 and Nick is hoping to double that this year.
